Thornborough Hall is an impressive Victorian sandstone building
dating from the 1830s. It has been tastefully refurbished throughout
and weddings take place in the beautifully restored ground floor
period room. This room is licensed for 65 guests seated or 130
guests standing. Furniture, background music and silk flowers
are provided and are included in the charge. You may of course
arrange to have fresh flowers placed in the room at your own
expense and there is a florist in the town.
The building is set in its own grounds with a large lawn to
the front which is bordered by mature trees and bushes. The main
entrance to the building faces south and is flanked by stone
pillars. The building and the grounds offer many opportunities
for photographs. A short walk away there is also Leyburn Shawl
with its panoramic views across Wensleydale which may appeal
to photographers seeking a dramatic setting .
